The Painter

The Painter Studio gets beautiful direct light from sunrise to sunset. It has a 12x20 foot south-facing window and 6x12 foot skylight above. In the morning the light will cast hard shadows on the white wall, and by late afternoon until sunset, the light stretches across the distressed concrete wall. The floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains create beautiful soft light. The space is filled with vintage props that help creatives make timeless sets for photos or videos. There are wooden ladders and stools and a vintage painting easel. A chain hangs from the 25 foot ceiling that can hold a swinging hammock chair or a vintage leather heavy bag with boxing gloves to match. A large, antique golden framed mirror sits against the wall next to a black leather Chesterfield sofa.

How’s the Light?

7 am - 11:30 am: direct light on the green wall with framed paintings

11:30 am - 1 pm: direct light on the floor and throughout the room

1 pm - Sunset: direct light on the distressed concrete wall

In the summer months, the sun's path is further north, which gives a soft ambient light all day long with little variation throughout the day.

In the winter months, the direct light shines far into the studio.
